Al-Shabaab militants launched a wave of attacks in several locations across Somalia over the first five days of June.

1 June: Al-Shabaab briefly seized Moqokori town in central Hiran region, claiming to have killed between 20 and 40 SNA soldiers, before withdrawing. The town was reoccupied by SNA and AMISOM troops the following day. [source] [source]

Also on 1 June, a large force of suspected al-Shabaab militants briefly seized Bali-Khadar base in the Galgala mountains in Bari region, Puntland. At least five Puntland Security Force soldiers were killed. PSF forces later reoccupied the base, and claimed to have killed 41 militants in followup operations. US AFRICOM reported that is had carried out an airstrike southwest of Bosasso on June 2, claiming to have killed 27 militants – it is unclear if those 27 were part of the PSF claim. June 2~3: Al-Shabaab militants launch a mortar attack and ground assault on an SNA base near Kulbiyow town on the Kenyan border, which was reportedly repulsed by the defenders. [source]

June 5: SNA forces repelled an al-Shabaab attack on Bardhere town in Gedo Region, reportedly killing 10  militants, and capturing one (although casualties from the several hour-long firefight are unconfirmed and there is no word on SNA casualties).  [source]
