In Beni, FARDC General Didier Etumba announces the start of Operation Sukola 2. The operation sees FARDC and MONUSCO forces beginning combat operations against FDLR rebels, whom are estimated to number in strength at roughly 1,400. SANDF and other Force Intervention Brigade elements are likely to be involved.
