The Jama’a Nusrat ul-Islam wa al-Muslimin (JNIM) claimed responsibility for an attack on MINUSMA peacekeepers near Kidal on 20 September. The AQIM-linked militants released imagery portraying the attack in which they set a UNÂ armored vehicle alight and wounded one peacekeeper with small arms, vehicle-mounter machine gun, RPG and mortar fire.
