The Border Management Agency (BMA) bill was passed in parliament on Thursday. With the BMA bill’s introduction into legislation, the way is paved for a new organisation wherein South African borders are patrolled and secured. Highly controversial, the initial vote in parliament did not pass, requiring a rescheduling by the ANC.
